The Polyglot Language School was established in Prague in 1989. 

In 1995 a branch was opened in České Budějovice and later in other cities – Plzeň, Jihlava, Brno, Ostrava and Liberec.

At present we offer language classes in over 66 locations across the Czech Republic.

In 2003 Polyglot became a founding member of the Czech Republic Association of Language Schools.

Since 2004 Polyglot has offered translation and interpretation services.

Since 2006 Polyglot has offered language courses abroad.

In 2008 a new branch was opened in Liberec.

An important part of the Polyglot school is the Publishing house which, since 1992, has been issuing successful language texbooks such as: Sprechen Sie Deutsch?, Time to Talk and the acclaimed Grammar Exercise books in English, German, French and Russian. Also highly praised is the new grammar exercise book Time to Practise with CD/MP3.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality of instruction to prepare the student for the practical use of their chosen language. The combination of native language speakers and Czech teachers encourages the immediate activation of course material.

 

We offer a wide range of courses in Czech, English, German, Spanish, French and Italian (Post-graduate bilingual studies, intensive morning courses, morning and evening courses, weekend courses and summer holiday courses).

 

We provide courses for all learning levels, from absolute beginner to advanced.

We also prepare students for various international exams:

English - KET, PET, FCE and CAE

German - Start Deutsch 1, Start Deutsch 2, ZD and ZMP

French - DELF and DALF

Spanish - DELE diploma

As of 2007 Polyglot is a testing center for the new internationally recognised Pearson exam.

 

Small groups of students (max 8). comprise our classes. In pomaturíta and intensive morning courses, the maximum number of students in a group is ten. With the exception of courses taught at the absolute beginner level, all our courses are taught by both Czech teachers and native language speakers.

 

In order to assess student progress, we administer mid-term and final testing for all our courses. Successful completion of the final test is rewarded with a Polyglot Language School certificate. This certificate is recognized by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CFRL).
